A block-sorting test to measure the ability to think in abstract concepts. The test consists of 22 blocks of different colors, shapes and sizes; but which are alike in some way. The subject must find the common factor in the blocks, and sort them according to this principle. Also known as the Vigotsky Test, it is particularly suited for use with children, uneducated adults and special groups such as individuals with psychotic features. Complete Kasanin-Hanfmann Test includes the Blocks and the Examiner's Manual.
The Modified Manual and Record Forms are particularly useful in the study of mental retardation, schizophrenia, and Intellectual Disability.
