When your samples need to be sliced as thinly as possible:
- Highest Quality
- Multiple Uses
- Highly Accurate
These matrices are precisely machined and highly polished to ensure reproducible sectioning. Rat and mouse brain matrices are available. Coronal and sagittal sections at 1 mm intervals. All coronal brain matrices have an additional mid-line sagittal cut to aid in the separation of the left and right hemispheres. The mouse brain matrices can also be used on neonatal rat brains. Divisions are 1 mm apart.
Dimensions: 1H x 1.75L x 1.125W inches.

Introducing the Alto 1.0mm Narrow Channel Brain Matrices
We have pushed technology to the limit to give researchers the opportunity to dissect rodent brains into thin 1.0mm coronal or sagittal slices using matrices.
Highest Quality — Made of high-quality stainless steel — harder than zinc, aluminum, and acrylic — Alto matrices will last longer withstanding repeated cleaning and autoclave sterilizing cycles, and can be used in experiments involving frozen tissues.
Multiple Uses — Alto matrices are ideal for producing sections for pharmacokinetic studies using the brain slice uptake method; for dissecting discrete regions of a rodent’s brain for biochemical analysis of various substances; and for the accurate blocking of organs for microtome sectioning.
Highly Accurate — The strong stainless steel material firmly drives the cutting blade providing the accuracy needed for your research.
Superfine — State-of-the-art manufacturing ensures the Alto 1.0mm matrices have the narrowest channels separated by the finest walls on the market enabling you to dissect your sample into really fine slices that are up to 30% thinner than previously achievable with nominal 1.0mm matrices.
