Concentric Bipolar electrodes are ideal for stimulating and recording from larger cell populations. The standard electrode configuration is 75mm in length. Two different tip profiles are available.

Round Profile
For stimulating smaller volumes, especially in tissue slice systems, the round profile is recommended. The inner pole is 25 micron platinum/iridium. The outer pole is insulated 33ga stainless steel tubing (200 micron) inserted into a length of 24ga tubing which makes the assembly less fragile and easier to handle.

Pencil Point Profile
The pencil point profile is ideal for in vivo stimuation and recording. The inner core is an insulated 250 micron stainless steel rod and the outer conductor is insulated 24ga (550 micron) stainless steel tubing.

All FHC bipolar electrodes are terminated with 50mm long, 38ga Teflon insulated wire with color coded male pin connectors. The electrical connections to the electrode are covered with shrink tubing in the standard configuration. Special or modified configurations available for specific requirements.
